US-based, focussing on US involvement and progress of the war. Contains Afghanistan news feed. "The Century Foundation, founded in 1919 by the progressive businessman Edward A. Filene, is a nonprofit public policy research institution committed to the belief that a mix of effective government, open democracy, and free markets is the most effective solution to the major challenges facing the United States."

Afghanwire Newsletter, Afghanwire.com

UK-based. "Afghanwire Ltd provides an internet-based news and information service to organisations and professional users who want to monitor Afghanistan’s national media outlets. Our staff includes expert translators, editors, analysts and writers who screen the vast mass of Afghanistan's media, selecting and translating relevant articles each day." Available as daily email by free subscription, and on the web. However there seem to be some difficulties with web access following registration, as at May 2007.

Global Voices Online - Afghanistan

Excellent collation of English-language blogs on Afghanistan, with many links, some of which contain further sets of Afghanistan-related blog links. "Global Voices Online is a non-profit global citizens’ media project founded at Harvard Law School’s Berkman Center for Internet and Society, a research think-tank focused on the Internet’s impact on society."
