Long Web address problem
An example of why long Web addresses are a problem on the Global Collaborative
Example of the problem caused by long Web addresses on the Global Collaborative
- The text on this page disappears of the right hand side of the screen.
- This is intentional.
- This is a page specifically crafted to demonstrate a problem.
This page has been created specifically to demonstrate the problem that a long Web address causes on the Global Collaborative. It is not intended to be informative in any way at all. It is a companion page to the discussion of the problem and some possible work-arounds.
On the Global Collaborative, long Web addresses can cause particular problems. The Global Collaborative doesn't not wrap long Web addresses well. This means that if you include a particularly long Web address as text on a page, it will force all the text to disappear off the right hand side of the page. And it doesn't even allow you to scroll sideways, which is a real problem.
