Tony’s primary research interest is in the area of housing and social policy with a focus on the changing nature of housing markets and distributional outcomes in a period of social and economic restructuring. Tony also studies the areas of housing industry, building regulation and housing renovation with a view to informing policy development that aims to improve the environmental performance of residential housing.

Dave works on a range of issues involved in creating sustainable cities. He looks at water, urban form, environmental policy, natural resource management and social impact assessment issues for cities across Asia-Pacific.

Martin specialises in community building, working with communities to build their sense of place, resilience and sustainability. This includes helping communities to discuss the possible impact of climate change in their areas, the actions that could be taken for adaptation and to develop adaptation plans accordingly. He has been undertaking this type of work in the Hamilton Region of Victoria. He has also helped communities to look at water issues and to consider the cultural dimensions of water-focused adaptive strategies in urban communities.

Since 1991, Alan has been co-director of Sustainable Solutions, an environmental consultancy, and has been involved in building energy and environmental rating and regulation, green building projects, educational software, green appliance development, industrial / business energy and environmental management, as well as policy analysis. He was awarded a Centenary Medal in 2003 for his contribution to climate change policy. Alan’s main focus is on emission mitigation actions, programs and policies.

Gavin is the director of the AHURI-RMIT/NATSEM Research Centre. His main research interests lie in the fields of public policy and urban studies, housing finance and labour economics. Recent research projects include studies on Housing Assistance and Economic Participation, and the Implications of Loss of a Partner for Older Private Renters.
