- John is Professor of Sustainability in the Innovation Leadership programme of RMIT University. John has been awarded 8 ARC Grants to research social change processes and education for sustainability approaches for advancing sustainable development. He is leading a project to establish an ATN Grad Cert in Carbon management to commence in 2009 and an ARC funded project titled 'Carbon Neutral Communities /Social Learning and Behaviour Change'.

- John is involved with the Centre for Risk & Community Safety which looks at emergency management planning, preparation, communication, and response. He is also involved with the Land Centre which includes a team of specialists in land administration, natural resource management, sustainable development, risk and community safety, cadastral surveying, land use planning, land valuation, natural resource modelling, remote sensing and geospatial science.

- Peter is the Program Leader of the RMIT Global Cities Institute, Climate Change Adaptation Program as such he is involved in overseeing all of the research that occurs at RMIT on this topic. Through the Nautilus Institute Peter uses a range of cooperative engagement methods in order to create near term solutions to complex global problems such as security and sustainability. Peter has been deeply involved in energy policy and security issues throughout Asia Pacific.

- Katherine is involved in projects with communities at risk from CC related disasters. She focuses on children and helping their voices to be heard in development policy issues. She explores the future for children in these areas and works with them as effective communicators of disaster risk and initiators of disaster prevention activities.

- Ralph is passionate about re-imagining and creating sustainable cities. His research has focused upon the environmental sustainability of housing and households, with a growing focus on the urban scale. Product and packaging eco-design, waste and product life cycle assessment are also a continuing theme. He leads two Australian Research Council Linkage Grants entitled: ‘Carbon Neutral Communities: Making the Transition’ and ‘Lifetime affordable housing’.

- Usha heads up the Sustainable Built Environment and Sustainable Materials Program for the Centre for Design. She is involved in the development of a range of decision-tools to assist with the design of buildings with low greenhouse gas emissions throughout their entire life cycle. Usha has worked in the public sector on developing and implementing sustainability policy and regulation in the built environment and has a strong multidisciplinary approach. Usha and her team provide training on sustainable building techniques and materials throughout Australia and Internationally. They have completed scoping studies on the sustainability of building materials for the Department of Environment & Heritage and the AGO.

- Nira's background in hydrology has led her to conduct research in the management of water resources, particularly into catchment and distribution systems and the impact of climate change. Her research embraces integrated water and land management, management and upgrading the quality of stormwater, the sustainability of urban water supplies, and the management of water demand within the industrial and residential context.

- Margaret is involved in development of innovative solutions to waste. She has worked on recycling building materials and plastics into usable products and is a member of RMIT’s Rheology and Materials Processing centre.

- Lyndal is an artist who uses art as a way of raising awareness about climate change and adaptation. She manages the Avoca Project which involves collaborations across a range of artworks with social and environmental scientists, architects and planners who are working to adapt 'The Swiss House in Avoca' in central Victoria to predicted climate changes and to improve it's sustainability all round.
